Leazott.com Newsletter-2015 04 08

Hello and welcome to all that have found this site!
2015 04 08

This is the first newsletter and somewhat of a welcome orientation.
Just a few quick notes, because by now you've already looked around a little.

First off, why was this site created?... ...Well, it was created, to to fill a need.
A need to bring us all to a place where we can get to know our outer families.

And more than that, to fill a need to teach us all about our family ancestry.
It seems to be something we avoid learning about during our younger years.
Perhaps it's a bit embarassingly "old worldish" during these times...

Times when our children no longer play as pirates or as cowboy heroes...
Their time is now spent on smart-phones messaging & internet window shopping.

Hopefully here, the two worlds can be mingled.
Hopefully here, member pages will show how we came to be where we are now.
Hopefully here, we can find that very place where we started from...The actual record.
And also too, find out why it is that we became so dispersed across this great nation.

What exactly is the thing that brought us all forward to here from our ancestry?
Why did some move, and why did some stay?
Who are the ones that thankfully kept in touch and still hold the answers?

More than likely, many of us have heard of our relation to Elbridge Gerry.
Governor of Massachusetts, and vice president to the United States.
As I understand it, the lineage is through my grandmother who was a Gerry.

Certainly there are others to hear from having different lines leading there also...
What a bonus it would be see verifiable records from others posting here!

I haven't personally followed the blood line...
But as I remember, my mother wrote a paper on it when I was very young.
If it's still available, it'll be scanned and posted here sometime during the near future.

So many questions...
So little webspace...

Please join in and help us all place our heritage as it belongs and find what we need.
Thanks for reading,

George Leazott
