The "Down-Low" on "What's Up"!!                                               2016 11 01
Still Working The Plan...
                                                            Published Monthly

Behind The Scenes...

Another month of seemingly endless technical work is passed.
When do we get back to the "fun stuff" that the site is intended to be?
The answer is that it can all be "fun stuff"! It's all in how the approach is done.

Why Is That?
Just as learning genealogy takes time, so does building a website that will share that information.
Both are equally important parts, and without one or the other, the system is entirely useless.

Information gathered is of little value if it cannot be shared with those who have a use for it.
Likewise, the ability to spread that knowledge isn't very useful without having content.
In the end, the two parts must perform their dance hand in hand together.

How Do We Do That?

For this particular month, the idea was to bring all the tree members up to an "even start".
That is, the non-individual/generic items on each's page to be similar for viewer comfort.

While not very glamorous, and possibly un-noticable without this page, it does have value.
Users will feel more uniformity throughout the tree, no matter what page they are on.

With so many members, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But in viewing the tree, it's value is seen!
Additionally, a new "plan" is formulated to not allow such an extreme amount before implementing.

What Will Be The Benefits?
An even start is the method by which we insure function, comfort and uniformity for all users.
They're what makes any site fun to use. Beyond those levels is the ever important production speed!

Though now outlawed, anyone that's had a piecework job understands its distinct advantages.
Raw pieces "stacked" show an immediate and visable difference if something is wrong.

Everyones household, their projects and even their lives are run according to a piecework "rate".
Production speed is always improved by a system of uniformity. Here's how in a family tree.

Monthly Reports & More...
Check The Family Tree Report and The Census Report for monthly updates-Try The Family Tree Demo
For independant searches, verifying your findings or census reprints the Census CD's are recomended.

When you're ready to add the support to do your own verifying, purchase the census files on CD's.
Because verifying is the key to accuracy, and accuracy is what makes your tree valid.
Good luck, have fun and enjoy!

Improving The Website...

Sometimes, it may take days and days just to make a very small item work properly on the web.
With each improvement comes much "Behind the scenes" work and a real sense of accomplishment.
So this is the where even minor adjustments get to shine in the spotlight for their 15 minutes of fame!

Genealogy 101 Layout...

A small but helpful change made to the Genealogy 101 pages!
There's no telling which lesson people will find first on the internet.
So a new link on each page has been added to go back to all lesson links!

Because this is so importantant, it has also been added to previous lessons.
Normally earlier pages are left as published, but readers may find the link useful.
The quicklink back to all lessons is in the words already at the top "Published Monthly".

So useful it's now also done to the Newsletter page so you can quickly view past newsletters!

As ideas and knowledge grow, so will the site.
Let's have some input!

That's the down-low on what's-up!
Thanks for reading,
